FAQs ABOUT DELIVERIES
Is there a charge for delivery?
Because of the substantial rise in the cost of fuel, we find it necessary to increase our delivery charges. Effective April 14, 2008, the delivery charge will be $15.00. There is also a $15.00 charge for pick-up of returned goods. We sincerely regret having to take this action. Thank you for your understanding.
What days can I get delivery in my area?
Unlike many retailers, we do not have set weekly routes making you wait until we are in your area to bring you a delivery. We delivery Monday through Friday and will do whatever we can to make it as convenient as possible for you to be on site or at home, if necessary, to receive your order. Saturday delivery is limited. Please call your nearest store location for details.
Will the driver place the materials where I want them? What's included in the delivery service?
Our drivers will attempt to place their vehicles as close as possible to the unloading point. However, jobsite conditions may impede the placement of our delivery truck on your property. Items that would be damaged by inclement weather will be covered or put into garage areas. Also, our drivers have been properly trained on the safe and proper operations of their vehicles. They are trained to identify delivery site conditions that may pose a potential safety risk to themselves, their vehicle, our customer and our customer's property. For instance, our drivers may opt not to use your driveway or lawn if they know damage will result. Basically, we offer tailgate delivery service. This means that the Belletetes' driver will try to position his vehicle at the most convenient point for you to unload the materials. While our driver will assist in unloading your materials, we do require that you make arrangements for an able-bodied person(s) to assist in unloading your materials.
Will you set shingles on my roof?
Normally shingles are delivered on one of our flatbed trucks and set on the ground. If you want us to put them on to your roof we will deliver them with one of our boom trucks and 'boom' them on to your roof. However, you must be there on your roof to unload the shingles from the boom. We cannot do that for you. Also, we must have advanced notice for boom truck delivery.
What if there is a problem with the quantity or quality of materials delivered?
We make every effort to ensure your delivery is accurate and of high quality. However, we understand that occasionally mistakes are made. If you have a discrepancy for quantity of goods delivered or a problem with the quality or condition of the materials or products you ordered, that needs to be communicated to your salesperson within 24 hours of receiving your delivery.
What about leftover materials?
We will accept returns and, if warranted, send a truck to pick them up. Remember, effective September 12, 2005, there is a $10.00 pick-up fee. Please call the lumber counter at the store from which you purchased the material to arrange for a return. Returns must be in saleable condition, in their original packaging (if applicable) and returned within 30 days from delivery with your receipt.
Customer Responsibilities:
Clear an area for placement of goods; have enough able-bodied people available to help unload; ensure driveway is clear for delivery truck; check your delivery slip against goods delivered; know where underground objects are that might interfere with delivery (i.e. location of septic tanks, drainage pipes or tiles, etc.) and communicate that information to our drivers.
